WELCOME TO IAPD AWARDS SEASON!

Each year, the IAPD recognizes member companies and individuals in the performance plastics industry for outstanding performance, innovations and leadership in the field. The eight prestigious awards will be presented during the IAPD Annual Convention in Atlanta, GA, USA. 

Individual Awards:

Paul Davis Award of Merit- Created in 1986 and first present to Paul Davis, the catalyst behind IAPD's founding in 1956, the Paul Davis Award of Merit is IAPD's most prestigious honor. It recognizes members who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and and service to the association and the performance plastics industry over an extended period.

IAPD Pacesetter Award- The Pacesetter Award is presented to an IAPD member volunteer who has contributed to one of IAPD's strategic priorities by leading an IAPD initiative and demonstrating signigicant progress during the previous year.

President’s Award- The President's Award recognizes an IAPD member volunteer, individual or group, that has gone above and beyond in service to the association.

Company Awards: 

Education Circle of Champions Awards- The IAPD Education Committee established the IAPD Education Circle of Champions award program in 2009 to acknowledge the innovative or exemplary educational initiatives by member companies. It is a special recognition for those companies that emphasize continuing education within their organization using IAPD’s training and educational resources.

Education Impact Award- This award honors one company annually that has made a significant contribution to the performance plastics industry through a standout educational initiative. Whether implemented at the branch, regional or company-wide level, the program demonstrates a commitment to advancing industry knowledge and workforce development. 

Environmental Excellence Awards- This award celebrates the innovative or exemplary environmental responsibility by a member company. The award criteria recognize the IAPD members who have adopted practices in their operations that demonstrate new and creative initiatives in sustainability. 

Environmental Impact Award– The IAPD Environmental Impact Award was created to recognize a specific environmental initiative by a branch, territory or companywide. Apply to the Environmental Impact Award to tell the story of the extraordinary measures your company has taken to demonstrate environmental sustainability.

Marketing Excellence Awards- This award celebrates the creative marketing efforts by IAPD member companies. The awards are based on a point system. The point system includes many low-cost or even free options for companies who may not have a marketing budget or even a dedicated marketing department.

IAPD Education Circle of Champions 

The IAPD Education Circle of Champions award program was established to acknowledge the innovative or exemplary educational initiatives by member companies. It is a special recognition for those companies that emphasize continuing plastics education within their organization through the use of IAPD’s training and educational resources. This recognition is open to IAPD member companies of all sizes and types. Eligible employees include managers and inside and outside sales personnel who are hired and/or complete an IAPD Certificate Program within the current eligibility period. (June 01, 2025 to May 31, 2026).   

Award Selection   Applications will be reviewed by the IAPD Education Committee. Nominated companies will abstain from voting, if applicable.      

Award Recognition    Winners will be recognized with:

  •  Award presented at IAPD Annual Convention
  • Announcement on IAPD website and in IAPD publications

 

The IAPD Environmental Committee established the IAPD Environmental Excellence Award to recognize the innovative or exemplary environmental responsibility by a member company. This award will be presented during the IAPD Annual Convention. 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS The criteria has been developed to recognize the IAPD member companies who have adopted sustainable practices in their operations and that demonstrate new and creative ways to be environmentally friendly. 

CRITERIA Applications are evaluated for commitment and effort. Smaller members, or those that have only recently begun their environmentally friendly policies, have as much of an opportunity to score high points as larger, more experienced applications. Each application has three sections. All entries that earn a minimum of 125 points will be awarded a GreenScene™ Certificate.

3. Video Submission (90 seconds to 3 minutes) for extra credit points 

Entries will be reviewed by the IAPD Environmental Committee on the following areas: 
• Environmental Impact - waste minimization & process improvements
• Financial Impact - energy saving & material cost reduction
• Social Impact - public outreach
• Green, Environmental & Sustainable initiatives

The IAPD Environmental Excellence Award is awarded at the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels to multiple IAPD member companies annually. Award winners receive:

  • Digital certificate of recognition
  • Use of the GreenSceneTM digital badge for one year
  • Trophy, presented on-site at the IAPD Annual Convention
  • Recognition on IAPD social channels and in Performance Plastics magazine
  • Inclusion in an IAPD Press Release

The Environmental Impact Award is presented to one IAPD member company annually. The winning company receives:

  • Recognition on IAPD social channels and in Performance Plastics magazine
  • Inclusion in an IAPD Press Release. 

IAPD Marketing Excellence Award The IAPD Marketing Excellence Award acknowledges the innovative or exemplary marketing initiatives by member companies. It is a special recognition for those companies that promote the positive benefits of performance plastics and leverage all the marketing tools available to them. This recognition is open to companies of all sizes and types. Award Criteria The criteria has been developed to recognize the IAPD member companies that are using IAPD marketing offerings along with other appropriate options in their campaigns. In addition to promoting the member company, consideration will be given to those companies that demonstrate new and creative ways to help overcome the negative impression of plastics.  Points will be awarded based on the member company leveraging the following marketing opportunities between June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026.
